We are happy to introduce you to a talented actor and singer from Australia – Adam Noviello !!

[Blaster] Thank you for your time Adam! What music did you grow up listening to?

Adam Noviello: I have always been very drawn to theatrical musicians. I discovered Tina Turner at a very young age, and my obsession with her energy and passion quickly led me down a path to David Bowie, Judy Garland, Shirley Bassey, Madonna, Lady Gaga & Lana Del Rey.

[Blaster] How did you become involved in music production?

Adam Noviello: My journey as a songwriter actually began on the TV show ‘Neighbours’! I worked with an actor who was also a guitarist, and one day we decided to get together and work on some tunes. This lead to the formation of a band, and on random evenings we would get together and write and play around. It was pretty casual, but it lit a fire within me to write music and tell my stories. Before I could properly pursue this passion though, I was fortunate to begin a successful musical theatre career, but years later I was drawn back to my music. I then met Oscar Sharah, the producer of my upcoming EP, and the rest is history!

[Blaster] How would you describe your musical style?

Adam Noviello: I would describe my music as melancholic queer pop. I draw a lot of inspiration from Troye Sivan, James Blake and Lana Del Rey whilst keeping some fierceness with hints of Lady Gaga and pure pop.

[Blaster] Who writes your songs?

Adam Noviello: That would be me! But I also LOVE to collaborate with other artists. Oscar Sharah has produced my first two singles, and also my upcoming EP. I have also co-written with my family on a few tracks; Chloe Sutton, Nate Sutton and Alex Sutton.

[Blaster] Is there a hidden meaning in your music?

Adam Noviello: I think my music is coloured with queer experience, but the goal of my tunes is to tell these stories making it clear that they are “every person” stories. Stories and lyrics written from an LGBTQIA+ perspective have a certain resonance that speaks to the outsider. To the oddball who has had to overcome obstacles your average human hasn’t. But I believe that it’s something everyone can relate to in some way, or can find courage and beauty in.

[Blaster] Do you collaborate with other musicians? What is that process?

Adam Noviello: I always enjoy a collaboration! But I don’t particularly have a process for it. For me, it’s working with people who have similar musical and life outlooks. I kind of just follow my instincts. Sometimes it’s about getting a song or an idea to a place and then feeling like it needs a certain eye to be cast over it. Or, in other instances, friends or artists bring me a beat or an idea and they need me to carry it further. I just trust my gut and go from there.

[Blaster] What skills have you learned that will help you in your music career?

Adam Noviello: I truly believe that my work as an actor and my career in the theatre has taught me an incredible work ethic. Once I have made a decision to work on something, it’s on! I cannot stray away from a creative goal once it is set. This has definitely helped me to move things along at a fairly fast and consistent rate. This year alone I have released two Top 10 singles with accompanying music videos, with more to come!

[Blaster] Do you have a record label? Are you a member of any music organization?

Adam Noviello: I am very lucky to be working with Global League Records on my releases. They’re an incredible independent label that I am proud to work alongside.

[Blaster] Where do you find your artistic inspiration?

Adam Noviello: Honestly, from my own truth. I only ever write from a place within myself that I feel needs to be unleashed in some way. Every idea or concept comes from that spark of creation that comes when it comes.

[Blaster] What are the main topics for most of your songs? Do you think topics will change overtime?

Adam Noviello: I definitely think this will forever grow and change as I grow and change as person. What I wrote about 5 years ago is not what I would write about today, and I feel this will carry on in the years to come. Right now I am very much exploring my gender identity and how that infects my life, my perspective and also my sexuality. My upcoming EP explores this, and also my heartbreaks up to this point.

[Blaster] What are you working on right now? Did you release something in the past?

Adam Noviello: Right now my label and I are prepping for the release of my EP. My first two singles from the EP, along with their FIERCE music videos, are available on all platforms. HERETIC was released in January and hit #1 on the iTunes Dance Chart, with ANOTHER YOU coming out a few weeks ago and hitting #8 on the iTunes Pop Chart. It’s been an exciting ride so far, and we’re just getting started!

[Blaster] What do you feel is the best song you ever released and why?

Adam Noviello: I would have to say my first single, HERETIC. HERETIC just hits in all the right places. It’s an incredible pop/dance track that is unbelievably infectious. People tell me all the time that they’re still humming those chorus lyrics, which I love! We also felt like that release created a moment for gender diverse people. It’s an anthem for the ENBY experience, and it has created this beautiful community via the music video and release. I am still receiving messages from people who are so stoked that HERETIC exists for them to celebrate themselves and feel their fantasy.

[Blaster] Who are you inspired by?

Adam Noviello: Right now it’s all about being unapologetic. And the great unapologetic icons are who inspire me. Bowie, Madonna, Prince, Gaga, the artists who say “to hell” with what is acceptable and conventional. The artists who are consistently brave and bold. However, in life, I’d have to say my greatest inspiration is my grandmother. She is a woman who seizes every day of her life. She actually features on my soon to be released debut EP, so watch out for her!

[Blaster] What would be your dream collaboration, with any musician or producer?

Adam Noviello: I would DIE to work with Troye Sivan on a track. Something super queer and ridiculous! Call me Troye! I’d also love to collaborate with FINNEAS, but who wouldn’t ?!

[Blaster] How do you balance your music with other obligations – school, hobby, job?

Adam Noviello: I have always been one to juggle multiple projects at once, so the balance of my music and the rest of my life is quite simple. It is my passion project right now and it is getting so much of my time and attention. Life obligations have to happen, but my artistry comes first. Everything around it is only there to serve that.

[Blaster] At the end of the day, what do you hope people take away from your music?
Adam Noviello: I just want people to live their truth. Feel what you feel. Say what you want to say. Be who you are meant to be. If people find that inspiration in my music and my stories, my job is done.

[Blaster] Would you like to give any message to your fans?

Adam Noviello: At this stage, all I wish to say is THANK YOU. For embracing me and for embracing yourselves. The best is yet to come!

[Blaster] Feel free to share your contact information for possible collaborations with musicians and social networks links, so fans can follow your work and access your music.
