She has worked with international artists and recording at M.I.G Studios where they took her under their wing, she decided to take her music career to the next level and now her genres range from R&B to Pop to Hip-Hop. We are happy to introduce you to a talented artist – DIMPLES !

[Blaster] Thank you for your time Dimples! What music did you grow up listening to?

DIMPLES: I grew up listening to pretty much everything, Pop, Rap, R&B, Soca, Dancehall, just to name a few.

[Blaster] How did you become involved in music production?

DIMPLES: Music has always been part of my life as my Uncle Neville Brown (Nato) was hosting shows. He was very involved in the Black Community which I loved. As well as Montreal artist TGE Marx, he brought me to the studio several times to record, I guess he saw something in me that I never used to see til now.

[Blaster] How would you describe your musical style?

DIMPLES: I would describe it as Heart Felt R&B.

[Blaster] Who writes your songs?

DIMPLES: I write all my songs.

[Blaster] Is there a hidden meaning in your music?

DIMPLES: None whatsoever my music is form of expression of myself and things I have experienced.

[Blaster] Do you collaborate with other musicians? What is that process?

DIMPLES: Yes I do, speaking from past collaborations it would normally be on the spot when I am in a session or when I am writing a song at home and I feel like I hear a certain someone on the track. I would then start searching for artists that I feel would fit well on that type of song.

[Blaster] What skills have you learned that will help you in your music career?

DIMPLES: I used to go to vocal training school for 2 years, and I feel like that has helped me a lot with knowing my range and controlling my breath.

[Blaster] Do you have a record label? Are you a member of any music organization?

DIMPLES: I do not have a record label and as of right now, but M.I.G Studios will forever be my home.

[Blaster] Where do you find your artistic inspiration?

DIMPLES: I get inspired by things people say and tell me and also by my personal experiences.

[Blaster] What are the main topics for most of your songs? Do you think topics will change overtime?

DIMPLES: The main topics would be Love and Heartbreak. I do not think it’ll change, I would increase singing on more topics, but Love and Heartbreak will forever be my forté. I am just a lover. I grew up listening to 90s and 2000s R&B that was the era about love and i still listen to that music era til this day.

[Blaster] What are you working on right now? Did you release something in the past?

DIMPLES: Right now I am just writing and thinking on possibly putting out another EP. I have released a few songs and video clips in the past.

[Blaster] What do you feel is the best song you ever released and why?

DIMPLES: Vibez because it is a summer song, super upbeat, makes people feel good, cookout type song and it just brings people together especially in the part with the breakdown where theres intructions to dance. Even people who can’t dance, can dance a one, two step.

[Blaster] Who are you inspired by?

DIMPLES: My mother Charmaine and my brother Kevon, through hard work and dedication; seeing them strive and persevere for what they want and never give up has inspired me to be as head strong as them. Also, a lot of artists and their styles inspire me but to name the mains would be, Jhene Aiko, 6lack, Summer Walker and Tory Lanez.

[Blaster] What would be your dream collaboration, with any musician or producer?

DIMPLES: My dream collaboration would have to be with Jhene Aiko, 6lack, Summer Walker or Tory Lanez because they are the main artists who inspire me.

[Blaster] How do you balance your music with other obligations – school, hobby, job?

DIMPLES: It is pretty hard because when school is stressing me out and exams come up I do not get any inspiration to write, I am basically blocked. Same goes for work, just because I deal with other peoples energy and I’m big on energy, that is why when I write my music it is in my room, door closed and Beats on full volume, just so I can be in my own zone with no distractions.

[Blaster] At the end of the day, what do you hope people take away from your music?

DIMPLES: I hope it is something that people can relate to, help heal, make feel good and also understand me thru my music.

[Blaster] Would you like to give any message to your fans?
