We are happy to introduce you to the multi–talented artist – JAS SIZZLES !

[Blaster] Thank you for your time Jas! What music did you grow up listening to?

Jas Sizzles: You’re welcome. I grew up listening to hip-hop, dancehall, merengue, tipico, bachata, and salsa.

 

[Blaster] How did you become involved in music production?

Jas Sizzles: When I was living in Dominican Republic at the age of 6 years old, I used to help my grandfather make Tamboras (dominican drums) out of the goat’s skin. I think all my music muse and inspirations comes from my grandfather. I watched him play so many musical instruments including the accordion, maracas, guiras, guitar, tamboras (Dominican drums), and harmonica. I returned to America when I was almost 11 years old and I started writing lyrics. Actually, I had won a poetry contest which I came in 1st place and that’s what led me to start rapping and writing my own lyrics.

 

[Blaster] How would you describe your musical style?

Jas Sizzles: My musical style would be “That Sizzles Sound,” in other words, “Sizzles Fusion” because it’s a combination of a lot of different genres from dembow, reggaeton, hip-hop, r&b, merengue, pop, dance music, dancehall, and afro-beats.

[Blaster] Is there an hidden meaning in any of your music?

Jas Sizzles: There is no hidden meaning, just that my music is unique, authentic, very rhythmic, and energetic.

 

[Blaster] Who writes your songs?

Jas Sizzles: I write, produce, mix, and master all my songs. I even design all my art covers and clothing designs. I am a 1 Man Army/ 1 Man Company. I do it all because of the rejections I’ve received as I was up- and-coming into this music industry. Nobody ever wanted to give me a chance to show my skills and talents. So, I decided to learn and do it all on my own. I am my own boss. I own all my masters and publishing. I release music whenever I want to without anyone’s approval. I don’t answer to anyone but me.

[Blaster] Where do you find your artistic inspiration?

Jas Sizzles: That’s a simple one. I don’t. It actually finds me. Inspiration comes to me unexpectedly without me even having to think about it. But to make it easier, a lot of the time inspiration comes when I’m in the bathroom, taking a shower or a dump and that’s a fact. Lol!

 

[Blaster] Do you have a record label? Are you a member of any music organization?

Jas Sizzles: Yes, I own my own label which is called, “It Sizzles Entertainment.” I also am a member of ASCAP.

[Blaster] Who are you inspired by?

Jas Sizzles: My deceased grandfather whom I still keep him in my heart.

 

[Blaster] Do you collaborate with others? What is that process?

Jas Sizzles: I do collaborate with anyone that’s willing to collaborate. My only process is that they don’t waste my time. Be real and have your shit on point.

 

[Blaster] What skills have you learned that will help you in your music career?

Jas Sizzles: Like I said above in one of the question… I am a 1 Man Army…I Do it all. My music speaks for itself.

 

[Blaster] What are the main topics for most of your songs? Do you think topics will change overtime?

Jas Sizzles: It all depends on the mood I’m feeling at the time of the creating process. Topics change all the time so I gotta stick and move.

 

[Blaster] What are you working right now? Did you release something in the past?

Jas Sizzles: I have just finished releasing my new double album called “Chantbow” which includes – Disc 1: Songs, and Disc 2: Instrumentals. It contains 12 songs for those who wanna jam to the music and 12 beats for those who are into instrumentals. In the past, I have released my albums and Eps titled: “Dembowlicious,” “Generation Sizzles,” “Today’s Special: A Taste Of Dembow,” “Shake It Like It’s Money,” and so many more. All my catalogs can be streamed and downloaded from on all music platforms.

[Blaster] What do you feel is the best song you ever released and why?

Jas Sizzles: Actually, they all are because I put so much work into it so that the world can enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them.

 

[Blaster] What would be your dream collaboration, with any musician or producer?

Jas Sizzles: Artist…I would have to say Slick Rick or Jay-Z and producers Mos Def, Dr. Dre or Timbaland.

 

[Blaster] How do you balance your music with other obligations – school, hobby, job?

Jas Sizzles: It’s easy because now I’m more focus on the music and my clothing brand. Nothing else.

 

[Blaster] At the end of the day, what do you hope people take away from your music?

Jas Sizzles: That they can relate and hopefully makes them dance or be part of my journey.

 

[Blaster] Would you like to give any message to your fans?

Jas Sizzles: Dear Fans and Independent Artists, I would like to thank all the fans that have believed in me and especially in my music. I do this for all you guys across the world. Thank you so much for all your support and love. I appreciate it very much. For all the independent artists, my only message to you is to keep believing in yourself and don’t let anyone stop you from accomplishing your dreams. I know that at times this music shit can get annoying -when no one believes in you or your dreams. But don’t let that stop you, just use it as your motivation to keep going and becoming better at what you do. Look at me, I never stopped. I continuously release music whenever I want. Another thing, stop chasing deals. Make your own deal by signing yourself to your own record company.
