[Blaster] Thank you for your time! What music did you grow up listening to?
SugNasty: Coming up, I listened to a little of everything from Diana Ross to TLC. Or Prince to Tupac.
[Blaster] How did you become involved in music production?
SugNasty: I was raised in a musically talented family, some of my earliest memories are singing in the church choir.
[Blaster] How would you describe your musical style?
SugNasty: I would describe my style as realistic, edgy, loud, and in your face.
[Blaster] Is there an hidden meaning in any of your music?
SugNasty: Yes, to be relentless and proud of who you are.
[Blaster] Who writes your songs?
SugNasty: I write all of my own music.
[Blaster] Where do you find your artistic inspiration?
SugNasty: Much of my inspiration comes from the world around me and my personal life.
[Blaster] Do you have a record label? Are you a member of any music organization?
SugNasty: I am an independent artist.
[Blaster] Who are you inspired by?
SugNasty: I am easily inspired by a lot of people, but more specifically Kendrick Lamar and the late Nipsey Hussle.
[Blaster] Do you collaborate with others? What is that process?
SugNasty: Yes, I do collaborations. That process looks different each time to fit the collaborating depending on the situation.
[Blaster] What skills have you learned that will help you in your music career?
SugNasty: I’ve learned the back end of how to properly register and release music, as well as how to collect royalties from it.
[Blaster] What are the main topics for most of your songs? Do you think topics will change overtime?
SugNasty: There is none. I create whatever I’m feeling at that time.
[Blaster] What are you working right now? Did you release something in the past?
SugNasty: Currently, I am working on two mixtapes, “Two-faced” & “Laugh Now Cry Later,” both set to release just before Christmas 2023.
[Blaster] What do you feel is the best song you ever released and why?
SugNasty: The best song I have released as of now would be “ROCCSTAR” (feat. R.O.C.). It’s getting great feedback from the fans.
[Blaster] What would be your dream collaboration, with any musician or producer?
SugNasty: My dream collaboration would be with Pharrell Williams.
[Blaster] How do you balance your music with other obligations – school, hobby, job?
SugNasty: With hard work and determination. It takes self-discipline and sacrifice to be a successful rap artist.
[Blaster] At the end of the day, what do you hope people take away from your music?
SugNasty: I hope people resonate with my pain and my drive, as well as personal growth.
