He is an Italian DJ and producer, mix and mastering engineer. He began to take his first steps in the world of music since he was a child. We are happy to introduce you to a talented musician – Gruw Frequency!

[Blaster] Thank you for your time! What music did you grow up listening to?

Gruw Frequency : First of all, my father was a guitarist in the 80’s, so I grew up listening his favorite music together. Queen, Dire Straits, Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple… I started my “love story” with the music listening them…

[Blaster] How did you become involved in music production?

Gruw Frequency : As dj, there was a time where I didn’t was satisfy of the music available all around. I was always looking for something different, fresh, and I remember one night in a club talking with another dj who was playing alongside me, and he told me “you are very talented, why you didn’t make music by yourself?”. The day after I bought my first software and I start to follow courses and lessons…

[Blaster] How would you describe your musical style?

Gruw Frequency : I don’t like to be described with only one word, and honestly I don’t like to be catalogued! In any way…. I make electronic music, ok, but I love to travel between all the shades of electronic music. In my career I made techno, house, downtempo, deep house, beatmaking… The music is my way to talk to the people, so depend what I want to share with my listeners…

[Blaster] Who writes your songs?

Gruw Frequency : I write everything by myself. I don’t have any songwriter or melody maker. I produce beat, melody, and everything’s…

[Blaster] Is there a hidden meaning in your music?

Gruw Frequency : Be yourself. Always. We don’t need to look like somebody else, every person in there world is unique. We must love us before to love somebody else, so, we need to find an equilibrium that allow us to live our life with happiness and serenity.

[Blaster] Do you collaborate with other musicians? What is that process?

Gruw Frequency : I make beats for some rappers, and I love to collaborate with singers on my songs. Anytime I want to make a song with vocals I look into my phone for the right singer, I call him/her and if something start, something happen…

[Blaster] What skills have you learned that will help you in your music career?

Gruw Frequency : I think that my music make a big step up when I start to make Mixing Masterclasses. You can make a mega-hit song, but if didn’t sounds good nobody will listen it. Making good and quality music need to pass from a properly mixing process.

[Blaster] Do you have a record label? Are you a member of any music organization?

Gruw Frequency : Yes, I have a main label GRUW’S MUSIC and a sub-label 2 ON RECORDS. Gruw’s Music is focused on underground music, for dancefloor and festivals. 2 On Records is a brand where we produce from Pop to Dance, Funky, and Radio-friendly music…

[Blaster] Where do you find your artistic inspiration?

Gruw Frequency : I listen a lot of music every day, hundreds of songs. I listen music every time I can, at home, at the park, in my car… But is not only about the music, sometime looking a color or living a situation can switch on a lamp in my head and I start to think about a sound that can match or describe what I’m living in that moment. I wrote all my upcoming album in this way…

[Blaster] What are the main topics for most of your songs? Do you think topics will change overtime?

Gruw Frequency : I don’t like to be mono-thematic. Nowhere. So, I don’t have a fix topic for my music.

[Blaster] What are you working on right now? Did you release something in the past?

Gruw Frequency : I have completed my 3rd album “NAKED” just few months ago and will be released on June 11th 2021 on my label 2 ON RECORDS.

[Blaster] What do you feel is the best song you ever released and why?

Gruw Frequency : I usually don’t put a limit to myself, you can always do better and better. So, my best song is the song who has to come But I have some favorite song, like OVERDOSE, 45 MINUTES TO LOSE ME and FAITH, who will be released in a Re-Mastered version in my new album.

[Blaster] Who are you inspired by?

Gruw Frequency : Every step of my life and my career was inspired by different persons. My father, first, then I followed a lot Trentemoller, Richie Hawtin, Junkie XL, Deadmau5, Bob Moses and Rodriguez Jr. As you can see, I don’t have a primary genre or a fixed mood. I love everything can make me feel better, who can give me emotions…

[Blaster] What would be your dream collaboration, with any musician or producer?

Gruw Frequency : Justin Timberlake or Dua Lipa as singers, I would love to make a track together with Rodriguez Jr and I think it will be really cool to produce a beat together with Timbaland! He’s a genius, I would love to spend some time in studio with him.

[Blaster] How do you balance your music with other obligations – school, hobby, job?

Gruw Frequency : I make music when I’m inspired, and I’m really lucky because my wife allow me to make my studio at home. So I can stay 2 months in my studio day and night making music non-stop or I can forget how to switch on my laptop. I’m really lucky because my family understand what the music mean for me, my wife and my son are my first fans and I love them.

[Blaster] At the end of the day, what do you hope people take away from your music?

Gruw Frequency : Making music make me happy, so I really hope to make my listeners happy when they listen to my music.

[Blaster] Would you like to give any message to your fans?

Gruw Frequency : I love them, all of them. I love the positive energy they transfer to me when they send me messages on social media or when they react to a new release. I’m really lucky, my fan base is growing year after year and I will be thankful forever for this.
