We are presenting ORANGE CLUB, fantastic music trio from Los Angeles!

[Blaster] Hi guys, thanks for your time! How did the band come together?

Orange Club: The three of us knew each other when we were very young (from 12 years old), but it was not until we were 15 that we began to go to the music classes that our school taught, where we performed covers of other bands, thus creating our first approaches as an ensemble, because we played multiple events for the school, but with nothing in particular. When we left school, we distanced ourselves musically, but not as friends, so we kept meeting to share a good time and listen to music. The band was formed without thinking, nothing was in mind, it was a summer afternoon in January 2018 when Rodrigo and Gonzalo were playing a keyboard for fun, but it was just at that moment that one of the first fragments was accidentally created of the EP, we composed a melody on the keyboard, to which new harmonies were added in other octaves of the piano, which began to take shape, then a synthetic drums were added to give it rhythm and after that, we recorded the audio with our phones to save it. The following week we decided to create a chorus and chorus of the song to complete it, which was successfully achieved, and we are proud of our recent creation, we share it on our social networks, and here comes Claudio, asking if we needed a drummer for such composition. Without a doubt, that was the day the band was born.

[Blaster] Describe the band or the band’s music in one sentence?

Orange Club: Music that seeks to create emotions, experiences and unforgettable personal moments.

[Blaster] As a band, is there one person who is the leader?

Orange Club: We work together launching ideas, sometimes one creates the lyrics, the other the riff of the song and we complement each other. If one has an idea, the rest of us evaluate it and we can improve it, add something to it or accept it as it is. We don’t have a leader, the three of us are the band.

[Blaster] Do you collectively have a favorite album?

Orange Club: Yes, we have, Mac Demarco II

[Blaster] Is there an hidden meaning in your music?

Orange Club: It depends on each person, we believe that each one can interpret them as they want, but we focus on creating an interpretive and musical experience rather than a specific idea.

[Blaster] For upcoming bands, can you tell us what the secret is of keeping a band together for so long?

Orange Club: The secret is simply to love what you do with the right people, it takes real friendship, trust, patience, tolerance, respect and having a lot of fun. It’s just having fun with your friends, but with instruments in your hands. And if one is happy with what one does and with the right people, everything will be fine.

[Blaster] Where do you find your artistic inspiration?

Orange Club: We find artistic inspiration in the sounds of all the artists who have marked a great musical step in history, without a doubt, without all this musical movement that has been experienced in the last century, we might not have found this artistic sensation.
It should be noted that each of us find our artistic inspiration in a different way, but in general, we agree that they are the experiences of each one, the people who come across in our lives are fundamental for inspiration and creation. Emotions are also a relevant factor when it comes to finding inspiration.

[Blaster] Any plans on new music? When can we expect a new album or EP?

Orange Club: Currently, we have new material for a possible second EP, but first we will see how it goes with the first EP, which we will release in a few months, no later than the end of the year.

[Blaster] Where can people see you perform next? Do you have a 2020 tour scheduled yet?

Orange Club: Currently the conditions are not the most suitable for a tour, due to Covid-19, however, as we are just promoting our entry into the musical world on all platforms and social networks, we do not have a scenario at the moment. But once this year passes, we believe that our first live performances will be from 2021 in Chile.

[Blaster] Tell us about your latest song. Was it specifically inspired by anything or anyone? Where was it recorded??

Orange Club: The last song was recorded in Estudio Insular, (Santiago de Chile) and the truth had several modifications in its mix throughout its creation, and it was mastered 2 times, we took all the time to achieve the particular sound we want to achieve, and will be available on all platforms between October and November with the release of the first EP, and precisely this song was not inspired by someone in particular, it just flowed. On the other hand, we also have other recent compositions created and recorded in a home studio.

[Blaster] What is one musical goal that you have had for this year?

Orange Club: Between now and the end of 2020 we have many objectives, among them, one is to make our musical project known to as many people as possible and see if they like it, another is to connect with an audience that feels identified with this style of music We also plan to achieve a certain number of listeners, know how the music market works, make contact with specific groups that can provide us with support, create new compositions, learn something new every day and study information that can give us more knowledge for a project musical.
And on the other hand, we also have a goal to finalize the new songs for the possible second EP, which is well under way. And don’t forget that we also want to improve and hone recording and mixing skills in order to compete musically on a global level, and to be able to reach a more advanced level in the studio, things can always be improved even more.

[Blaster] Can you recall the moment when you thought you could be in this group?

Orange Club: Yes, we began to think about being part of a band as the first demos were being recorded in the home studio, this is because we saw that we had an efficient teamwork and also because a feeling of comfort and trust emerged between us., thus having the freedom to tell us the things we believe without restrictions in order to improve our musical performance to the maximum, that is, listen to each other, something fundamental for the proper functioning of the band and for decision making.
Regarding the name of the band, it was really complex, that is, we went through several names, which were only for the moment, but it was not until after we finished recording our first EP, with an intense search in multiple dictionaries, websites and in musical documents to find the name and so we decided to call ourselves “Orange Club”.

[Blaster] Do you all hang out socially apart from the music?

Orange Club: Of course we do, we have a very strong friendship, we have known each other since we were very young and we were already friends before we started playing an instrument, so we have always grown together attending the same events, parties and social gatherings, we like to spend time going to natural places or getting together at parties at home. Although music is the most important thing for us, we cannot miss having fun. What music has done is intensify our connection and we even have such a good time creating music that we feel that it is our social time, for us it goes hand in hand, we have fun making music, and we make music to have fun.

[Blaster] Where do you think you are all happiest- in the studio recording new music, on stage performing or elsewhere?

Orange Club: Honestly, we still don’t have much experience playing live since we are just beginning and of course with the arrival of the pandemic it is not possible either, but it must feel very incredible to defend and interpret our songs on stage. We believe that we would be very happy recording new music in the studio, because we already saw how good it feels and it is actually one of the best experiences we have had in our lives, seeing how our creations are formed from scratch is the most gratifying, that everything you have in mind is reflected in a composition is what makes us feel full and happy.

[Blaster] What do you hope is the message of your music?

Orange Club: We hope that people enjoy our music and that each one wants to get the best out of it, we do not focus on an ideology or a specific message to convey. We simply seek to provide a satisfying and pleasant experience to our listeners, sensations that we try to convey only from the music and its respective melodies, harmonies and sounds that we seek with great care and precision. When we listen to us, we want people to be transported with their minds and feelings, that they do not think about anything, but at the same time think about everything, we want to be only a means that helps them calm down, disconnect and enjoy a moment either alone or in someone’s company.

[Blaster] Is there any funny stories that happened to you while traveling together, that you want to share with our readers?

Orange Club: Yes! After having recorded all the songs from the first EP in Estudio Insular, we organized ourselves to record a video clip for this first single that we recently released and after having planned and found a friend who knows how to record, we decided that it had to be in a Beach.
It was a summer afternoon in February of this year, the 4 of us set off by car from Los Andes (where we are from) to a beach in Quintay (a very distant place), we carried all the necessary accessories to make a great video clip, it was very exciting for us!, we brought two guitars, a bass, drums, a keyboard, food for the day, change clothes for possible scenes of the video, cameras, savings for gasoline and a few beers. Everything was in order, until it started to rain… we had planned everything very well, but we missed seeing the weather, a fundamental factor for the single “Counting Sunbeams”. It was a chaotic moment, we had spent a lot of money on gasoline and tolls, we visited many beaches and just when we found the perfect place, it started to rain, we started arguing, and blaming each other, it was a disaster.
To pass this moment, the only thing we used were beers, and we were talking about stories from our past, we ended up laughing and having a great night. Right after that, we were lucky enough to find a place to stay to try again.
The next day, we came back with more energy than ever, the weather was perfect to perform the song, we gave it our all.
The video clip will be available soon.

[Blaster] Would you like to give any message to your fans?

Orange Club: I don’t think we have many fans at the moment, we are just starting, but if we want to thank those people who have accompanied us since we started with this project, you can see the unconditional support, the accompaniment, and the good vibes, they have really welcomed us very well with this first single. It was really not easy to take this step as a band, but not impossible, anyone with desire, effort and perseverance can achieve anything. You only live once, follow your dreams.

[Blaster] Tell us where fans can follow your work and access your music.
