He developed an interest in writing as a teenager as he wrote poetry for his grandfather Dan, to keep Dan optimistic as he was in the hospital. We are happy to introduce you to the talented American hip-hop artist – Money Mike Sandberg !
[Blaster] Thank you for your time Mike! What music did you grow up listening to?
Money Mike Sandberg: Hip-hop/rap.
[Blaster] How did you become involved in music production?
Money Mike Sandberg: I was influenced to start recording music when a friend of mine, who goes by the stage name SteddiFLo, showed me his personal mixtape he recorded in 2011. He showed me that you can write your own narrative through music and that music has a special way of connecting people from all walk of life. I still have his mixtape saved on my computer.
[Blaster] How would you describe your musical style?
Money Mike Sandberg: My musical style composes of lyrical puns and double entendres, while telling a message.
[Blaster] Who writes your songs?
Money Mike Sandberg: I write all my songs, it has to be that way for me so I can feel accountable for every word I put down.
[Blaster] Is there a hidden meaning in your music?
Money Mike Sandberg: There aren’t really any hidden meanings. My music is to the point and transparent. The content is about relatable for people from all walks of life.
[Blaster] Do you collaborate with other musicians? What is that process?
Money Mike Sandberg: I collaborate musically with a few friends, but I keep it to a few. I don’t write more than a few songs per year so every song can make an impact on myself and those around me.
[Blaster] What skills have you learned that will help you in your music career?
Money Mike Sandberg: I learned to never give up on the process and to persevere through all the doubts.
[Blaster] Do you have a record label? Are you a member of any music organization?
Money Mike Sandberg: I don’t have a record label, I am a one man crew.
[Blaster] Where do you find your artistic inspiration?
Money Mike Sandberg: My artistic inspiration is self-generated. I haven’t been able to pinpoint where it came from.
[Blaster] What are the main topics for most of your songs? Do you think topics will change overtime?
Money Mike Sandberg: The topics for my songs are changing all the time. I can’t say all my songs revolve around one topic. Whatever topic/theme comes to mind, I roll with it and write about it.
[Blaster] What are you working on right now? Did you release something in the past?
Money Mike Sandberg: I just released the song “Take Me Back” on February 22, 2021.
[Blaster] What do you feel is the best song you ever released and why?
Money Mike Sandberg:“Take Me Back” is my best work. It is very personal about my thoughts about society’s expectations and how society has evolved. I take a stand for my personal beliefs in this song.
[Blaster] Who are you inspired by?
Money Mike Sandberg: I am truly inspired by my family and am humbled to share my life with them. My music is very personal.
[Blaster] What would be your dream collaboration, with any musician or producer?
Money Mike Sandberg: My dream collaboration would be with Eminem or Logic, because I have grown up listening to them. They have helped form my musical style.
[Blaster] How do you balance your music with other obligations – school, hobby, job?
Money Mike Sandberg: I am a teacher by profession. However, I enjoy expressing my feelings and emotions through music and fit music into my schedule (usually on down time or on weekends).
[Blaster] At the end of the day, what do you hope people take away from your music?
Money Mike Sandberg: That I am genuine and my music speaks for itself.
[Blaster] Would you like to give any message to your fans?
Money Mike Sandberg: I would like to tell my fans to remain true to yourself.
