[Blaster] Thank you for your time! What music did you grow up listening to?
Strel: Justin Timberlake, N.E.R.D, Michael Jackson, Limp Bizkit, Fatboy Slim, Pharrell, Linkin Park.
[Blaster] How did you become involved in music production?
Strel: It’s a funny story. I was a very active boy when I was a kid. And one time I was freaking out in music class, as a punishment they put me next to the teacher who was playing the piano. After the lesson she told me I had a good voice and she started to practice with me all the time.
[Blaster] How would you describe your musical style?
Strel: I’d say it’s a mix of pop and hip-hop. In general I like to mix different genres and add details which are not typical for only one genre.
[Blaster] Who writes your songs?
Strel: I write all the lyrics and music myself.
[Blaster] Is there a hidden meaning in your music?
Strel: I don’t know, it’s more of a direct flow from my mind – how I see the very beat and lyrics to the song
[Blaster] Do you collaborate with other musicians? What is that process?
Strel: No, but i’d like to do it in near future.
[Blaster] What skills have you learned that will help you in your music career?
Strel: How to build your marketing campaign correctly. Nowadays it’s not as hard to make music as it is to promote it.
[Blaster] Do you have a record label? Are you a member of any music organization?
Strel: No, right now I’m an independent artist.
[Blaster] Where do you find your artistic inspiration?
Strel: I listened to a lot of artists of different styles in my childhood and adolescence. All that music influenced me. And I’m most likely inspired by the sounds that are in the back of my mind.
[Blaster] What are the main topics for most of your songs? Do you think topics will change overtime?
Strel: The main topics of my songs are love and my good and bad experiences that I had during my life.
[Blaster] What are you working on right now? Did you release something in the past?
Strel: I recently released an EP with tracks in Russian. Now I’m recording a new EP, which should come out in May of this year. It will contain only songs in English.
[Blaster] What do you feel is the best song you ever released and why?
Strel: I think it’s “My Way.”As a producer, I really like the deep sound of this track and how it was mixed.
[Blaster] Who are you inspired by?
Strel: By the world’s top producers: Pharrell, Kanye West, Timberland.
[Blaster] What would be your dream collaboration, with any musician or producer?
Strel: My dream is to work with Pharrell Williams and The Weeknd.
[Blaster] How do you balance your music with other obligations – school, hobby, job?
Strel:I just plan my time in advance and set aside separate days for music. I have to balance – I run my own creative agency 88AGENCY.
[Blaster] At the end of the day, what do you hope people take away from your music?
Strel: I hope that at the end of the day I gave them a piece of good cheer. Made their day a little better and brighter.
