Committed to sharing their mistakes and heartbreaks to prevent your’s, the pop music duo has a song written about anything and everything. We are happy to introduce you to the talented singers & songwriters – THE BAND KRIS!

[Blaster] Thank you for your time! What music did you grow up listening to?

The Band Kris : Our parents raised us on listening to Elton John so as kids we were always singing “Crocodile Rock” or “Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting)” but once we found Taylor Swift’s music, that obsession picked up real fast! Essentially, we grew up listening to Elton John and Taylor Swift

[Blaster] How did you become involved in music production?

The Band Kris : Honestly, it all leads back to our love for songwriting.

[Blaster] How would you describe your musical style?

The Band Kris : Our musical style is solely based on our lyrics. Depending on what we are writing about, those lyrics determine the style of the song. We tend to lean more pop though!

[Blaster] Who writes your songs?

The Band Kris : We do! We are sisters, we live together…basically we have the perfect setup to song-write together at any time of the day or night!

[Blaster] Is there a hidden meaning in your music?

The Band Kris : 100000000000%. We love leaving hidden messages in our lyrics hoping that the people we wrote about will notice. Some might say that’s petty, but we think it’s quite fun!

[Blaster] Do you collaborate with other musicians? What is that process?

The Band Kris : We collaborate with John Townsend. He is an incredible musician and producer. To give you an idea of what that process looks like, basically it is a group chat of us 3 with a thousand voice memos being sent.

[Blaster] What skills have you learned that will help you in your music career?

The Band Kris : Embracing and appreciating constructive criticism and networking.

[Blaster] Do you have a record label? Are you a member of any music organization?

The Band Kris : No, we are currently doing this whole music thing alone! Well, is it considered alone if we have each other?

[Blaster] Where do you find your artistic inspiration?

The Band Kris : Every situation that we experience inspires a song. Literally every situation we experience. We are dramatic, we know.

[Blaster] What are the main topics for most of your songs? Do you think topics will change overtime?

The Band Kris : We write a song about anything and everything we experience. Although, sometimes we write about situations that we didn’t personally experience but we felt connected to it. Our topics range from heartbreaks, depression, feeling absolutely nothing, being broke…wait we promise we have some happy songs too haha

[Blaster] What are you working on right now? Did you release something in the past?

The Band Kris : We are currently working on an upcoming release. However, we are super excited about our most recent release, “Everybody Cries at Night”.

[Blaster] What do you feel is the best song you ever released and why?

The Band Kris : As of right now, we feel that “Everybody Cries at Night” is our best released song thus far. Our intention and hope is to improve with every single so hopefully each new song we release is better than the last one! With “Everybody Cries at Night”, it really exposes the not so likable sides of us so it was risky putting it out there.

[Blaster] Who are you inspired by?

The Band Kris : Did we mention our love for Taylor Swift yet? Haha we are always inspired by her lyrics.

[Blaster] What would be your dream collaboration, with any musician or producer?

The Band Kris : Oh man, our dream collaboration would definitely be Lauv. He has a way of bringing good energy to deep topics like depression. Collaborating with Lauv would be a dream come true!

[Blaster] How do you balance your music with other obligations – school, hobby, job?

The Band Kris : We are still trying to figure this one out. A lot of therapy. Except now we don’t even have time for that so we are really just winging it. On a real note, we try to make an effective agenda everyday in order to balance everything out.

[Blaster] At the end of the day, what do you hope people take away from your music?

The Band Kris : We intend for people to feel a sense of relief like, “THANK GOD THEY FEEL THE SAME WAY”. We want people who listen to our music to feel connected with us in the sense that we all are in this whole life thing together.

[Blaster] Would you like to give any message to your fans?

The Band Kris : We would love to send our gratitude for each person who listens to our music. We can’t express enough just how grateful we are for you.

[Blaster] Feel free to share your contact information for possible collaborations with musicians and social networks links, so fans can follow your work and access your music.
